Background

Amazon Design Excellence (ADX) is the collective pan-Amazon organization that develops, prioritizes, executes and measures the health of design community programs and initiatives. As lead-design for the core ADX team, I contributed to maintaining the following pillars:

 

  • Elevate design: Amplify the influence of Design
  • Invest in people & culture: Grow Design culture and careers
  • Equip teams: Provide tools and resources to help Designers do their best work
  • Build a brand for design: Engage the community with thought leadership and conversation

Brand System

ADX kicked off the rebrand program April of 2023 with our external partner, Athletics NYC. Our high level goal for this program is to build a brand that reflects our deep belief in the power of Design—The ADX brand should be the north star that cultivates a healthy and vibrant design culture and community at Amazon.

 

Athletics completed final handoff of brand strategy and territories in April of 2024, at which point I initiated final definition, application, and delivery.

Design Hub

Amazon’s design hub was created as part of the October 2024 brand launch. These external and internal sites were built in collaboration with Athletics NYC and are maintained by ADX.

A primary function for ADX is producing year-round learning & development programs for the design & creative community. These programs range from self-paced trainings to multi-day conferences.
